Shipping has been an efficient mode for providing accessibility & mobility of resources which contribute to the booming international commerce. In order to maintain the efficiency, safety and cost effectiveness, the steady withdrawal of older ships and their replacement by newer ones is a natural commercial process. For aging ships (life of more than 20-25 years) recycling is the best method to dispose them off by reusing the structural material and on-board equipments. It is also the eco-friendliest option.
The contribution of the ship recycling industry in this process of recycling the material is significant. Worldwide there are few countries where the ship breaking activity is being carried out and the Alang-Sosiya Ship breaking yard (a 10 KM stretch of the Gujarat coast) is one of the biggest ship breaking yards in the world.
Y.S Investment (part of the Lucky Group) is an Association of Persons and one of the leading ship recycling units operating ship-breaking activities at plot no 59 (Old 24-E), Alang Ship Breaking Yard, Alang (Bhavnagar).
